Fight against horse fatigue: plants to restore vitality and tone

A tired horse lacks training, recovers slowly after exercise or loses condition for no apparent reason. Seasonal change, return to work, recovery, advanced age: the causes of fatigue in horses are multiple.

ESC Laboratory has selected pure plants and targeted blends to naturally accompany your horse in periods of loss of shape. Spirulina, marine algae, rhodiola, cynorrhodon: each plant is chosen for its richness in essential nutrients (vitamins, minerals, trace elements, antioxidants) and its properties recognized in equine herbal therapy. Pure dehydrated plants, without additives, controlled by an independent laboratory.

Understanding horse fatigue

Horse fatigue is not just a lack of passenger energy. It can manifest itself as a decrease in performance at the exercise, a lack of reactivity at work, a dull hair, progressive weight loss or abnormally long recovery after a session.

Several factors explain this state. Intensive work without adequate recovery, unbalanced or carencaed diet, internal parasitism, a recent infectious episode or the natural aging of the organism. In both the elderly and the growing young horse, nutritional needs are increasing and reserves are running out faster.

Identifying the cause remains a priority. A veterinary check-up allows to rule out any underlying pathology (anemia, infection, metabolic problem). In addition, herbal therapy offers natural support to help the body regain its balance.

What plants to fight against horse fatigue?

Some plants are distinguished by their nutrient concentration and revitalizing properties.

Spirulina is a microalgae that is particularly rich in protein (over 65 %), iron, vitamin B12 and antioxidants. It is suitable for work horses, convalescent horses and senior horses. Its nutritional density makes it an input of choice during periods of fatigue or intense stress.

Marine algae (Fucus vesiculosus), harvested in Brittany, provide a wide spectrum of vitamins, minerals and trace elements (iodine, zinc, selenium, iron). They are traditionally used during fatigue, difficult moulting and in the elderly horse.

Rhodiola, an adaptive plant, contains polyphenols such as rosavine. It helps the body to adapt to different forms of stress, whether physical (intensive effort, competition) or nervous (environmental change, deburring, transport).

Cynorrhodon, a whiteberry, concentrates an exceptional vitamin C content (20 times more than orange). Natural antioxidant, it supports immune defenses and restores energy to weakened organisms.

Leleutherococcus, sometimes called « Siberian ginseng », has adaptive and tonic properties thanks to its eleutherosides. It is also a source of vitamin C, vitamin E, calcium, magnesium and potassium.

Chlorella, a chlorophyll-rich microalgae, completes this selection with detoxifying properties and supportive action on immunity.

Pure plants or mixtures: how to choose?

ESC Laboratory offers two complementary approaches.

Pure plants help to target a specific need. They are ideal when the cause of fatigue is identified: spirulina for iron or protein deficiency, cynorrhodon for vitamin whipping, rhodiola for stress-related fatigue.

Mixtures combine several plants with synergistic actions. Energymix combines plants that help support the horse's body at work and promote recovery.

In the event of significant fatigue, seaweeds can be associated with a treatment of Extrafer, a liquid supplement that helps increase energy capacity and resistance to stress.

Quality and traceability ESC Laboratory

All plants in this selection are pure, dehydrated, untreated and guaranteed without GMOs. Each batch is subjected to bacteriological analysis by an independent laboratory. Packaging is carried out in France, in opaque buckets stored in an air-conditioned environment to preserve the integrity of the active ingredients.
