Horsetail is a perennial plant of 50cm to 1m common and present everywhere (except in Australia and in sandy soils).

Components: mineral elements, flavonoids, caffeic acid derivatives, equisetolic acid, sterols, traces of alkaloids.

Field horsetail is a source of silicon and has remineralizing properties useful for horses. Horsetail is recommended for joint and tendon support. This plant is also useful during the growth phases.

Horsetail contains between 5 and 8% silica and silicic acid, substances that play a role in the formation of connective tissue.

A German commission has also approved the medicinal use of horsetail to treat edema caused by shock.

What do you associate field horsetail with?

If there is a need for enhanced remineralisation, horsetail can be supplemented with a cure of seaweed, such as lithothamnion. This oceanic algae is a source of easily assimilable calcium and magnesium, useful in the event of a deficient ration or demineralisation. Lithothamnion is also recommended in case of gastric acidity.

Directions for use : dose to be added to the basic ration of an adult horse (550kg) : 30 g per day for 15 days. If possible, distribute in 2 daily doses. Repeat if necessary. Do not hesitate to ask your veterinarian for advice before use or prolongation.

Precautions for use : pregnant or nursing mares or foals : on veterinary advice only. Formulated for equidae. To close again well after use. Keep in a cool and dry place. Keep out of reach of children.
