La Chia – Salvia hispanica. Family of the Laminaceae
The chia seeds come from the plant Salvia hispanica. Formerly cultivated by the Aztecs, it is a perennial herbaceous plant of the family Lamiaceae. The plant produces violet flowers as well as seeds whose colour varies from black to white, passing through grey. Seed sizes range from 1 to 2 mm.
Components: Source of nutrients, Chia seeds are particularly suitable for feeding horses. They have high levels of antioxidants while providing both protein, fiber, minerals and Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids to ensure a more balanced diet.
The use of Chia seeds for horses presents many nutritional and physiological interests for the horse:
Used as a complement facilitating the natural well-being of the horse and a complete source of protein, chia seeds contribute to the development and recovery of horses. The immune system is boosted by the high seed content of Omega 3. They also help to optimize the digestive tract and are recommended for metabolic disorders. Rich in fiber, the Chia quickly gels and slows the absorption of carbohydrates by forming a film "mucile" in the intestines of the horse. Chia seeds are hydrophilic and help keep the horse hydrated and allow it to better conserve electrolytes.
With what to associate the seeds of Chia?
For a complete well-being cure, you can associate with Chia seeds the complement Garlic Plus, a liquid supplement based on dyes mothers of garlic, draining and artichoke, 3 complementary plants that participate in the general well-being of the horse.

My mare being a little gluttonous, she rushes to her rations. I have to add liquid to the seeds, or she starts coughing straight. I think they have to stick in her mouth? Anyway, no more trouble in humidifying. And in this way, the seeds are well mixed with the rest.
