Beer yeast is a living organism that naturally multiplies inside a heated nutrient medium usually composed of water, sugars, proteins and activators. In the absence of air, these fungi transform sugar to survive and cause a reaction that releases alcohol and carbon dioxide bubbles from fermentation.
