CURCUMA – Curcuma longa. Zingiberaceae family
The Curcuma is a herbaceous plant, perennial from 60cm to 1m high. Its rhizome (root) is light brown and orange yellow inside. Discreet flowers, pale yellow. This spice is grown in tropical Asia, Africa and the Caribbean.
Components: curcuminoids (curcumin), essential oil, polysaccharides, starch, iron, manganese.

The curcumin that gives the yellow colour to the turmeric has been the subject of many studies. This substance has recognized antioxidant and soothing properties. The root of Curcuma longa is traditionally used to soothe the sensitive joints of the horse.
This spice is also beneficial for supporting the digestive tract and liver of the horse, it facilitates digestion and contributes to digestive comfort.
With what to associate the Curcuma?
During high joint sensitivity, this spice may be associated with Arthromix, a unique mixture of dehydrated plants with soothing, remineralizing and draining properties. This mixture does not contain dHarpagophytumIt can be safely distributed to the sensitive horse of the stomach.
In case of sensitive stomach and digestive discomfort, it is possible to combine the Curcuma with Juice of Aloe vera.

How much to give a horse?
For a 550kg horse, you can give 20g of turmeric per day over a 3 week cure. Refer to our usage tips.

Instructions for use: dose to be added to the basic ration of an adult horse (550kg): 20 g per day for 3 weeks. If possible, distribute in 2 daily doses. To be renewed if necessary.
