The essential oil of Gaultheria is very rich in methyl salicylate, an active substance for the precursor of the aspirin.

Externally used in massage, Gaulthery essential oil has a powerful heating action.

It is recommended in case of stiffness or joint sensitivity or after sustained effort to soothe muscles.
