Maroon of India – Aesculus hippocastanum

Also known as a common chestnut or white chestnut tree, the Indian chestnut tree is native to the Balkans and Western Asia. The use of seed and bark will be preferred in herbal medicine.

The chestnut tree of India, a plant that promotes de-engorgment:

The Indian chestnut tree has decongestant and tonic properties and is particularly effective in the event of congestion problems in the horse. In fact, traditionally, the brown of India is known for its astringent properties, i.e. it tightens the fabrics.

The Indian chestnut tree is also interesting in case of venous insufficiency. The main active ingredient of L-aescin is believed to be the origin of its properties. This compound would preserve the permeability and tonicity of the venous wall (veinotonic effect).

Instructions for use: dose to be added to the basic ration of an adult horse (550kg): 10 g per day for 3 weeks. If possible, distribute in 2 daily doses. To be renewed if necessary. Do not hesitate to ask your veterinarian for advice before use or extension.

Precautions for use: not recommended in pregnant or lactating mares or in the case of anticoagulant treatment. Ask a veterinarian for advice in case of EMS. Formulated for equidae. Close well after use. Store in a cool and dry place. Keep out of the reach of children.

Anti-doping control: This product may contain doping substances, stop its distribution before an official test. Ask a veterinarian for advice on waiting time (usually 72 hours).
