Lysine is an essential amino acid, i.e. the body cannot produce it and must be drawn from food. It is present in large quantities in the muscles and has many biological functions. It contributes, among other things, to the development of horse muscles and to the repair of muscle micro-sections after exercise, bone growth, collagen and antibody formation, and carbohydrate metabolism.

It is also used to form carnitine, a substance present in most of the cells of our body that contributes to the transport of fat to cells to be converted (burned) into energy.

The equine organism needs lysine to function normally. It is a crucial component of proteins that help the body's tissues grow and regenerate.
