1978: Creation of society and launch of ointments
Society's adventure began in the late 1970s. The company's founders, Mr. and Mrs. Mathorel, are engaged in the production of ointments made from Laurier oil and guaranteed without tars.
The range initially composed of blond and black ointments gradually enriched with a Keratine version and a Cade oil version for wet periods. The specificity of the recipe and the method of manufacture make it a first quality product that is perfectly resistant to temperature variations.
Today, the range includes more than 20 references.
Each formula is available in multiple formats (from 500ml pot to 20kg seal) and in liquid versions.
1990: The supply of care products is emerging
In addition to the intense production, the ESC Laboratory uses its expertise in gels and ointments and launches new care products for hoofs. The Hippercorn based on sweet almond oil, known for its regenerative properties of the horn is created following a special order for horses of complete participants in the Australian Olympics.
The company also diversifys on the tendons and joints segment by developing lotions and preparations to relieve the limbs after the effort (equittenon gel, Astrinjambe, Hippo tendons more...).
Skincare products, shampoos, disinfectant solutions, skincare creams for wounds, lesions, tars, warts and insect protection lotions will gradually complete the range.
2000: Launch of food supplements
In order to meet the growing interest of riders and owners in complementary phythotherapeuthic products, the ESC Laboratory uses its knowledge of plants to diversify its offer.
A branch specialized in herbal therapy and phythonutrition through the production of herbal supplements is created. The number of plant components purchased in cut form or in essential oils, forming part of the composition of the products is diversified in order to select the natural properties adapted to the multiple equine pathologies and fragility.
Today more than 100 different species are included in the product composition, mostly enriched with vitamins, minerals, sea algae and trace elements. The range of more than 90 references makes it possible to contribute to the proper functioning of the equine organism by subscribing to a specific food programme complementary to the basic ration.


2016: Company divestiture
After 40 years of commitment to the service of equine well-being and performance, the founders of the Laboratoire ESC divest their company.
Repriser Caroline de Rosière, passionate rider convinced of the quality of the company's products, takes over the management of the Laboratory after 18 years spent in the agri-food industry. The ambition is to value its know-how while preserving the manufacturing methods and revenues that have made the company famous.
At the end of 2017, Marc Burin des Roziers, equine veterinarian and expert in horse care products joins the company. Its technical expertise and contribution in formulation, quality control and selection of first materials strengthens the company's expertise in the equine herbal therapy segment.
Based on his experience, the ESC laboratory has acquired a unique knowledge and know-how in the field of food supplements, medicines and medicines. Our products, which are distributed throughout France as well as in Spain, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland, are now recognized by many veterinarians, breeders and marketers.
The company therefore has to develop while remaining faithful to its requirement of quality and efficiency.
January 2025: The company moves next to Nevers in the commune of Saint-Eloi.
We settle in premises of 4200 m2. A beautiful industrial building large enough to develop our business, invest in new production machines, store more materials and accommodate more employees. This move is a major turning point in the life of the company that continues to develop and strengthen its expertise in animal herbal therapy.
