Squash seeds are sources of cucurbitacin, a natural amino acid that supports natural defenses against internal parasites. Rich in proteins (almost 30%) and fibers, they are very nourishing and energizing and also help avoid constipations.
Studies have shown the effectiveness of squash seed on the significant reduction in excreted eggs (88%)
Plant presentation: Cucurbita pepo is a very old plant native to America. Amerindian peoples were already using seeds for their diuretic virtue.
Components: proteins, lipids, antioxidants, vitamins, iron, zinc, magnesium, copper, potassium and calcium, and oleic acids
Squash seed helps prevent and expel internal parasites, especially flat worms, through the biochemical compound teniacid present in cucurbitacin. The squash also contains a lot of soluble fibres and potassium, which will soothe the digestive system, delay bowel movements and avoid constipation. Squash seeds could also calm the irritated intestines naturally.
For mares, squash seeds are recommended for lactation because they contain a multitude of essential vitamins.
