Algomax is formulated from raw materials rich in essential nutrients essential to the body in case of fatigue or effort:

  • Spirulina is a microalgae rich in proteins (57%), vitamin A, vitamin B12, iron and antioxidants. This algae supports the immune system. It is useful to fight against oxidative stress thanks to its richness in antioxidants. Spirulina is also a precious ally in case of chronic fatigue or for the sports horse.
  • Nettle is a plant very rich in minerals and silica. Nettle is traditionally used for joint stiffness and also has draining virtues. This plant silica is very well tolerated by the body and promotes remineralization.
  • Cod liver oil is a source of essential fatty acids (omega 3) and vitamins. This oil is an excellent appetite stimulator and helps to improve the condition of older horses.

I have just started giving it to my 24 year old mare who is struggling to regain her condition. The smell is not very appetizing (cod liver oil) but by adding small pieces of apple or carrot, she finally got used to it (I started with a mini dose, increasing gradually).

Horse mother tinctures are liquid solutions obtained after maceration of plants in alcohol (1kg of plant is necessary for 1 litre of hydroalcoholic solution). The quantity of active ingredients determines the percentage of alcohol added (the degree of alcohol is usually between 60 and 95 degrees). The maceration time is about 3 weeks during which the mixture is regularly stirred in order to concentrate the liquid in active principles. This mixture is then filtered.
Mother tinctures are the basis of the majority of homeopathic products and their production is highly regulated.
